Shampoo collection addition - Harbour Plaza North Point

The China trip had many memories and souveniers and of course hotel shampoos!

The swankiest and largest collection came from the Harbour Plaza North Point in Hong Kong!

the collection consisted of: Bottles (front to back): bath gel, conditioning shampoo and lotion; the many boxes contained: cottoon tips, sanitary bag, sewing kit, shower cap and toothbrush set (including toothpaste); and of course the disk of soap!

Nice little collection, including two bars of soap, face and body! And lots of natural seeds and grains, wasn't sure if I wash with it or eat it and it cleans from the inside out!

The Milford Plaza is well located and affordable, no frills, nothing fancy. And that is about the same thing I would say about their toiletries!

Shampoo collection addition - The Paramount

The week after being in Two Rivers, WI, I was in New York to see Cirque Du Soleil's Wintuk show.

The Paramount hotel, an Ian Shrager hotel, was where I stayed. It was the smallest room I have ever stayed! Well appointed and wonderfully functional and a wonderfully whimsical design of the rooms. The lobby is amazing and like many of his other designs.

Was surprised there was not a name/label on the toiletries! Two soaps, of the same, just different sizes, and a shower cap!

October brought to additions to the family, well hotel shampoo collection!

I found myself staying at the Lighthouse Inn, located in Two Rivers, WI during my workshop at Hamilton Woodtype.

They seem to be generic hotel products. The room was charming, I even had a lake view!

With my recent travels, I stayed at the Hyatt Regency Atlanta.

Their hotel shampoos are by Portico. The unusual thing about this collection is that the bar of soap is a "soothing massage bar." It has these nubs molded into it which actually feel quite nice! The lavender-citurs scent is pretty nice too and pretty gender neutral (some get very womanly).

I collect hotel shampoos!

It is not really a collection. I do not have them all displayed on some hand carved shelf or in a curio cabinet, but I do have quite a collection in a bag in my bathroom linen closet.

Typically, I only take the shampoo, conditioner and bar soap, daily, as they are kind enough to replace them daily. But being a designer, I sometimes have to take everything, right down to the bath hat and boot buffer, both names which make me chuckle! Sometimes the private label packaging design is really nice.

This collection of bath treats is from the Renaissance Ilikai Hotel in Oahu where I recently stayed. The back row has mint thyme hair wash, yuzu bergamot body wash, yuzu bergamot moisturizer, mint thyme creme rinse, the bath hat and boot buffer. In the front is lemongrass bar soap and lavender facial soap.

Funny thing, I am not alone in this collecting. And when I find myself staying with someone who too has this affliction, there is a moment of horror as to who will take the amenities as a keepsake!
