And you're right - these things are a good way to bring in visitors - Wordless Wednesday and Thursday 13 seem to be the most popular. (Just google them to find out more)
The best way is to visit (and don't forget to comment!) all sorts of blogs - it is considered proper etiquette to return the visit, so the more you visit, the more bloggers will visit you! I've met people from all over the world through these 'memes' as they're called!

I have gotten a lot more visitors since I started playing these memes, but I find it's usually only if I visit their blog first then they will come to mine. Maybe in time that will change, as they get to know my work is worth seeing, haha. I've decided that one thing I have to start doing is posting it a day early as by the time I post (for example, Manic Monday) on Monday, it's already Monday night or Tuesday in many places and people have moved on.
